New TomTom Smart Watches coming next month
By   |  October 12, 2016

This year’s IFA in Berlin was the occasion for TomTom to announce new comers to its smart watch range: the first one is the TomTom Adventurer. This new GPS watch built for the outdoor and includes dedicated modes for hiking, trail running, skiing and snowboarding. The other features include a built-in heart monitor, a compass, a barometer and an automatic life detection system for snow sports. The GPS mode allows tracking and Route exploration based on TomTom Expertise.

The TomTom Adventurer
The modes included in the watch make the TomTom Adventurer a great choice for mountain lovers. Snow addicts will be pleased as well with automatic lift detection and the recording of key stats after each time down the slopes. The TomTom Adventurer also displays live stats including speed, altitude, descent and gradient. For trail runners and hikers, route exploration, elevation metrics and a special long-life battery mode means new mountainous paths can be explored confidently.

“We’re excited to launch TomTom Adventurer today, an easy-to-use GPS Outdoor Watch designed to bring out the explorer in us all,” said Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom Consumer. “We believe anyone who loves the outdoors deserves to have access to high-end technology typically reserved for the extreme mountain man. Now, with TomTom Adventurer everyone can start tracking their activities whenever they are exploring new heights.”

Along with tracking outdoor activities, the TomTom Adventurer comes with 24/7 activity tracking for every run, swim, cycle or gym session that can also be tracked in dedicated sports modes. You can track your pulse using the built-in heart rate monitor and the integrated music player can play 3 GB of your favorite’s songs, you will no longer need to carry your phone during your activities. The Adventurer is also waterproof until 40 meters, syncs wirelessly and can share your progress on social networks.

The other two are the TomTom Spark 3 and Runner 3 watches. Both of them come now equipped with Route Exploration like the Adventurer and are launching with brand new durable straps in a wide range of colors to fit all the tastes.

The TomTom Runner 3
The Route Exploration function allows exploring new trails with no fear of getting lost. But you can also be cautious and upload unexplored routes via the MySports website on to your watch. Anyway, every time you run your GPS trace is displayed on the watch so you can always find your way back to the start. Social Networks are once again not forgotten as routes are easily shared with friends.

“We’re proud to launch the TomTom Spark 3 and Runner 3 now with Route Exploration, building on our years of experience in mapping and navigation,” said Corinne Vigreux, “Route Exploration is more than just a way to get back home safer. It inspires runners to get even more out of their training, increase distance confidently and explore exciting, new routes.”

The TomTom Spark 3
The GPS Sport Watches count your steps 24/7, and again every run, swim, cycle or gym session can be tracked in dedicated sports modes. The watch records stats for every activity including time, distance, speed, pace and calories burned. The MySports companion app will keep you motivated while giving you news goals. Different version will be available including a music player, a heart rate monitor or both. The only things we have not understood quite well is the real difference between those two models as they share the same specifications, designs and prices. Even the product pages on Tomtom website are almost the same but one is presented as a running watch while the other is a fitness watch.
